What is medical needling ?

Medical needling is a procedure done using a dermaroller, a cylindrical shaped drum stud with very fine needles. This procedure is also called Collagen Induction Therapy ( CIT ) because it stimulate skin cell proliferation and collagen formation.

How is the procedure performed ?

The skin is cleaned and numbed with an appropriate topical or local anaesthesia. Skin is then thoroughly needled in such a away, that each skin part is needled about 15 – 20 times resulting in an even flush. The procedure can be repeated as often as required. Recommendations is to start with three treatments with a minimum separation time of 6 – 8 weeks between treatments.

What effects Medical needling have on the skin ?

It improves the thickness of the dermais and the epidermis. This in return improves skin texture and reduces wrinkles. Scars especially Acne scars can be dramatically improved.

What are the side effects ?

There are virtually no negative side effects.

What is the down time after medical needling ?

The skin reaction tends to settle within hours and may last for 1-2 days.
