What is Derma Planing?
Derma Planing is a manual exfoliation treatment that removes the outermost layers of dead skin cells using a safe blade. The skin is left feeling smooth , supple, and glowing.
Is it safe?
This treatment is extremely safe and is very easy and quick to perform. The blade is held against the skin at a 45 degree angle and stroked back and forth along the skin, removing all superficial dead skin cells and surface hair. It’s a simple, pain-free process.
Won’t the hair grow back darker and thicker?
No, it will not. As there is no change to the structure of the hair follicle, the hair will grow back the same. In some few cases, the hair may grow back patchy (which is a plus for many patients).
Can the skin bleed?
The chance of bleeding is minimal. This treatment is only performed by qualified therapists who have had the proper training and practice. However, small cuts can occur in rare cases. These should heal very quickly, leaving smooth skin behind.
How often can you have this treatment?
This treatment can be performed every 3 – 4 weeks.
Can Derma Planing be performed in conjunction with a chemical peel?
Yes it can. The blading treatment can be done on its own or with a Chirally-Correct peel, further enhancing the penetration of the peel, achieving superior results.
Which skin types can be treated with Derma Planing?
All skin types can benefit from Derma Planning – even sensitive skin, rosacea skin types, thickened, sun-damaged skin and pigmented skins as well. However, this treatment is not suitable for those suffering from acne.
